In June, we did a spotlight on everything the Fair Food Program and The Coalition of Immokalee Workers are doing for the workers in Florida's tomato fields. We wanted to grab an excerpt from Barry Estabrook's book Tomatoland: How Modern Industrial Agriculture Destroyed Our Most Alluring Fruit to tell a story about one man who was held captive in one of those tomato fields.
